Kitimat Chamber of Commerce Fishing Derby Prize Package

Nautical West Sport Fishing offers the Kitimat Chamber of Commerce 2009 Fishing Derby a Kitimat River fishing with Nautical West drift fishing prize package. The lucky winner will receive the exciting river fishing drift prize for the 2010 fishing season. The prize package is for two persons, full day of guided fishing for either Steelhead and Trout, Pacific Salmon and Trout.

Chinook & Halibut

Chinook and Halibut fishing is underway here in Northern British Columbia. The Kitimat regional ewaters are in excellent shape and the fish are here. This last week has been very good for both the Kitimat River and the Douglas Channel region for early run Chinooks and good bottom fishing for Halibut and Cod.

We still have a few dates open for guided fishing trips on both the Kitimat River and the Douglas Channel waters.

Chinook Fishing in Kitimat

Fishing for spring Chinooks in Kitimat, British Columbia, Canada.
During the month of May we start our early Chinook fishing out on the Douglas Channel and outer coastal waters. This time of year the Chinook are plumping up and preparing for their journeys home. May is one of my favorite month’s for west coast fishing as these early chinook tend to be very aggresive feeders during this time of year and will hit the bait and run hard. Over the years of guiding for Chinooks on the Douglas Channel I find the early springers are far more aggresive towards a trolled spoon or a fresh cut plug herring.
We will be producing a feature podcast this May on these early run Chinooks.
